Copy Editor | Remote
Overview: We are seeking a Copy Editor to join our team and collaborate with our team of expert writers to ensure all content adheres to our organization’s guidelines and client specifications. The Copy Editor holds responsibility for proofreading all content, editing content, and working with writers to deliver the highest caliber of content. The Copy Editor will also coordinate with writers and designers to ensure content meets client branding guidelines and ensures all copy is accurate and free of grammatical errors.
Terms: Part-time 10-20 hours per week, contract (1099) employment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and revise content for accuracy, flow, tone, and quality, including spelling, grammar, punctuation, clarity, and syntax; ensure content adheres to the in-house style guide and client needs, branding standards, and specifications
- Proofread a range of digital content including social media captions, emails, blog articles, web page copy, client artifacts or proposals, fact sheets, and more
- Communicate and work with production team members to ensure timely publication of content
- Check SEO keywords for select client pieces to ensure consistency with the client’s brand and desired voice and tone
- Collaborate with writers to devise fresh, creative ideas with audience engagement in mind
- Manage multiple projects to consistently achieve deadlines
- Compile and update style guides as required
- Harness emerging tools, content management systems, and online platforms and portals to share digital content and stories with various audiences as per client specifications and requirements
- Stay attuned to the latest media trends and content best practices
- Submit work to the editor for input and approval in advance of the deadline
Qualifications/Desired Characteristics:
- Proven experience as a copy editor or similar role
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Demonstrated leadership and time management skills
- Proficient in desktop publishing software and Microsoft Office
- Excellent writing and editing skills in English
- Ability to meet tight deadlines
- Degree preferred in marketing, English, journalism, or related field
Content Writer | Remote
Overview: The Digital Content Writer will craft, develop, edit, and publish content and copy for a variety of digital platforms, including websites, blogs, videos, email marketing campaigns, advertising campaigns, social media posts, infographics, whitepapers, and more.
Terms: Part-time 10-20 hours per week, contract (1099) employment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare well-structured drafts of digital content regarding niche topics on healthcare, beauty, finance, marketing, travel, education, nonprofit matters, and more
- Research assigned topics in-depth utilizing online resources, interviews, studies, and 3rd-party articles to uncover material elements related to topics and offer a unique perspective or story
- Develop interesting, unique, and compelling content that elicits audience response and engagement
- Integrate search engine optimization (SEO) keywords into select client pieces to craft compelling content and materials that best represents the client’s brand and desired voice and tone; ensure overall consistency with styles, fonts, images, and tone
- Revise and proofread content to be error-free and grammatically correct
- Interview clients, subject matter experts, or others to capture interesting subject details related to assigned topics
- Deliver projects on-time from ideation to revision and publication, ensuring all work is comprehensive, error-free, and compelling while achieving or exceeding client expectations
- Harness emerging tools, content management systems, and online platforms and portals to share digital content and stories with various audiences as per client specifications and requirements
- Coordinate with marketing or design teams to illustrate articles and content
- Promote content on various social media platforms as assigned
- Identify customer needs and gaps in content and recommend new topics
- Submit work to the editor for input and approval in advance of the deadline
Qualifications/Desired Characteristics:
- Proven experience as a content writer, copywriter, or similar role
- Should have an existing portfolio of published articles
- Experience conducting research using multiple sources
- Familiarity with web publications
- Excellent writing and editing skills in English
- Hands-on experience with Content Management Systems (e.g. WordPress)
- Ability to meet tight deadlines
- Degree preferred in marketing, English, journalism, or related field
